This quest is available once you defeat the Ancient Dragon on Normal difficulty and turn in any quest, or finish the Hermit quest chain in the Lost Woods for the second time. Within the game menu, this quest is followed by Search and Resurrection.
Description[]
A man who lost his memories has sent us a request. He was saved from drowning in the lake in the Lost Woods, and his memory of anything before that is fuzzy.
He's been dreaming lately of a crying woman calling to him from the bottom of the lake, even waking up in the middle of the night with these dreams. He thinks the woman in his dreams has to do with his lost memories. However, he says his wife adamantly refuses to allow him to go anywhere near the lake.
You must get on a boat in the depths of the Lost Woods and find out if there's a woman at the bottom of the lake.

Strategy[]
At Lost Woods path A, in the fifth screen (fourth of path A), you'll be riding a small boat into a river with vortexes. Allow the boat to be damaged by the vortexes, killer fish and lizardmen. Once the boat sinks and you start the next screen, the quest will be complete.
